Welcome to my journal... My name is Brandy. I am updating this bio section for the first time in many years. I want a fresh start and updating this page seems like a necessity. I am 34 years old, female, living in Greensboro, NC. I am single. I am a student at the moment, studying to be a substance abuse counselor at the High Point campus of a local community college. I am happy to say that I love the work that I do. Classes are not a chore and neither is work. I started my first internship in November of 2014. When I finish my degree, I will have all of the requirements to take the exam to become a CSAC-A.
I love words. I love to read, I write poetry. Ask me about my poetry journal if that sort of thing interests you. I have been published twice. I also love music. I like a good beat to music but mostly, I listen to the words. I great hook will do it for me every time. I am a Christian/Baptist believer in Jesus Christ. I believe everyone is welcome in the house of God as they are. I do not force my beliefs on anyone. My faith is very important to me. I struggle with anxiety and depression as well as the physical symptoms of IBS brought on by my extreme level of anxiety.
Any other questions? Feel free to in-box me.
Thanks for checking out my profile.
POETS ARE A DIFFERENT BREED OF WRITERS
“We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering - these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love - these are what we stay alive for.”
I KNOW THAT I KNOW
ROMANS 8:28 (new living translation)
"And we know that God causes everything to work together for those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them."
1 CORINTHIANS 13:4-7, 13:13 (new living translation)
"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand it's own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never looses faith and is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."
"Three things will last forever-faith, hope and love-and the greatest of these is love."
SONG OF SOLOMAN 8:6-7 (new living translation)
"Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, it's jealousy as enduring as the grave. Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame. Many waters can not quench love, nor can rivers drown it. If a man tried to buy love with all his wealth, his offer would be utterly scorned."
"You think you're in love, like it's a real sure thing but every time you fall you get your a** in a sling." Falling in Love, Aerosmith
"If something's lost I want to watch you get it back again." Pearl Jam, The Fixer.
"That's Jack Baur!" President Logan, 24: Season 8 ... "I'm a f****** rock star. What the f*** do I want to sit in a f******* board meeting for?" Ozzy Ozbourne, Rolling Stone magazine issue 1105.
"If my poetry aims to achieve anything, it's to deliver people from the limited ways they see and feel." Jim Morrison, The Doors.
"I'll die for your sins if you live for mine." Jim Carroll, from Fear of Dreaming.
